CARNAVAL EN LANTZ!
Se trata de un
carnaval rural de gran tradición, en el que durante unos días las fuerzas del
mal y del bien se enfrentan en una batalla simbólica en la que la sed de
justicia moviliza las iras populares.
Se celebra en Lantz el domingo, lunes y martes anteriores al miércoles de ceniza. El día grande es el martes de Carnaval.
Cada martes de carnaval se celebra, el apresamiento, juicio y muerte en la hoguera del mítico y malvado bandido Miel Otxin.
Este muñeco de tres metros porta los brazos en cruz, viste blusa estampada, pantalón azul y faja roja, y corona su cabeza un gorro cónico llamativamente adornado.
Asimismo, varios personajes le acompañan en el desfile: Ziripot, hombre bonachón y gordinflón hecho a base de sacos rellenos de helechos y heno, que apenas puede mantenerse en pie; le persigue el Zaldiko, caballo bravío que arremete contra él hasta tirarlo al suelo; los Arotzak portan martillos y tenazas, y corren tras el Zaldiko para herrarlo, y finalmente los Txatxos, que enfundados en pieles de animales y armados con palos y escobas, gritan mientras hostigan a todos los presentes.

Lantzeko
(Nafarroa) Inauteriak Miel Otxin-en
heriotza antzezten da, hau da, herriak epaitutako gaizkilea sutan erre egiten
dute. Lantzeko inauteriko konpartsa osatzen duten pertsonaiak honako hauek
dira: Ziripot, lastoz betetako zakuzko jantzia
darama;. Zaldiko, zaldiarena egiten duen gaztea, ziripot lurrera botatzen etengabe saiatzen
dena. - Ferratzaileak edo errementariak, zaldiko-ren atzetik
dabiltza ferrak jarri nahian, eta
azkenik azkenik azkenik txantxoak, bertako bizilagunak soinean kolorezko
jantzi bitxiak eta eskuetan makilak eta erratzak dituztelarik. Miel

COME AND ENJOY OUR LANTZ CARNAVAL!
It is a rural carnival of great tradition, in which for a few days the
forces of evil and good face in a symbolic battle in which the thirst for
justice mobilizes popular anger.It is celebrated in Lantz on Sunday, Monday and
Tuesday before Ash Wednesday. The big day is Carnival Tuesday.
Every Tuesday of Carnival is celebrated, the arrest,
trial and death at the stake of the mythical and evil bandit Miel Otxin. This
three-meter doll carries the cross arms, wears a printed blouse, blue trousers
and a red sash, and a conical hat is strikingly adorned on his head. Also,
several characters accompany him in the parade: Ziripot,
good-natured and fat man made from sacks filled with ferns and hay, which can
barely stand up.
Zaldiko pursues him, a brave horse that lashes out at him until he throws him
to the ground; the Arotzak carry hammers and pliers, and run
after the Zaldiko to shoe him, and finally the Txatxos, who, clad
in animal skins and armed with sticks and brooms, shout while harassing everyone
present.When Miel Otxin is killed, all the characters
dance around him with mutil-dantza and zortziko.
This is a video that reflects,
vaguely, the intensity with which carnival is lived in this small Navarro town.
It must be lived in person to discover the sensations transmitted by the magic
of the place in contact with the party.
